Via MLB Trade Rumors: The Diamondbacks continue adding to the lineup. They’re reportedly in agreement with designated hitter/outfielder Joc Pederson on a one-year, $12.5MM guarantee. The Excel Sports Management client will receive a $9.5MM salary next season and is due a $3MM buyout on a 2025 mutual option valued at $14MM. The Rangers are in agreement with David Robertson on a one-year deal in the $11-12MM range, reports Jeff Passan of ESPN. The contract is pending a physical. Jon Heyman of the New York Post first reported this afternoon that Texas was showing interest in the right-hander, who is self-represented. Texas will need to create a 40-man roster spot once the deal is finalized. The Rangers announced Friday that they’ve traded outfielder J.P. Martinez to the Braves in exchange for minor league right-hander Tyler Owens. Texas needed to open a spot on its 40-man roster in order to finalize yesterday’s reported signing of David Robertson, and a trade of the 27-year-old Martinez seemingly paves the way for that signing to be made official. Robertson is taking his physical in Texas today 📝
